Solo Violin
Introducing the Lux Violin, a refined addition to the popular series. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail and a passion for flawless tone, this library brings the soulful beauty of the violin to your fingertips. Building on the success of the Barbarian Cello, this instrument delivers a rich and emotive experience for composers, producers, and musicians.
The Lux Violin utilizes the revolutionary bowing action and bowing techniques developed for the Barbarian Cello.
Enrich your compositions with the unparalleled beauty of the Lux Violin—a library where timeless elegance meets innovative technology.
Bow Repeater
The Lux Violin utilizes a unique bow repeater mechanism, carefully designed to naturally repeat notes in sustained articulations—just when you need them. This is achieved by using up to five variations of each note, completely eliminating the “machine gun effect.” Furthermore, the repeats are extracted from musical phrases, guaranteeing a natural and authentic sound.
Legato Mechanism
The instrument uses two types of legato transitions, automatically activated depending on your playing style, making them ideal for fast passages. Regular transitions were meticulously recorded over an octave range up and down. Fast transitions cover the interval of a perfect fourth, allowing for flawless execution of rapid ornaments and passages.
Extensive Possibilities
The Lux Violin offers a wide range of articulations, covering the entire dynamic range from extremely soft to extremely loud. Legato, harmonics, flautando, three types of swells, and much more are available. Furthermore, long notes offer both soft and hard attacks, significantly expanding the instrument’s expressive range. Short articulations were isolated from musical phrases to achieve maximum naturalness and smooth transitions between notes. Particular attention was paid to the spiccato technique, represented by 12 variants of alternating samples and 5 dynamic layers.
User Interface
The interface offers three operating modes:
1. Keyswitches. Allows you to switch articulations using the red keys in the upper register of the keyboard.
2. Split mode. Allows you to divide the keyboard into two parts: for example, play sustain on the left part and legato on the right.
3. Morph mode. Allows you to transform one articulation into another, which is especially useful, for example, for transforming flautando into harmonics or creating other combinations.
Separate patches are also available for those who prefer to work with them or want to save resources.

Changes in version 1.1.0 (2025-03-25)
The library now has two main patches instead of one. The first, Lux Violin.nki, is an update to the original patch with an improved legato release, and the second, Lux Violin (higher KS).nki, is a new patch in which the key switches are located slightly higher to create convenience for owners of smaller MIDI keyboards.
